Ed G., male, ID#Booth

Ed is a 42 year old male who moved from Edmonton to Calgary in search of work. Last night he stayed at the Salvation Army shelter.

For Christmas Ed would like: warm footwear size 9, socks, blanket, hat, gloves & scarf, bus tickets, and a bus ticket to Edmonton.

 

Richard F., male, ID#Booth

Richard is a 48 year old male who is originally from Lloydminster. He has been in Calgary for four months and will soon leave to work on the west coast. Last night he stayed at the Salvation Army shelter. Richard biggest challenges are managing his finances and keeping healthy. He feels encouraged when he is needed by others and busy with work.

For Christmas Richard would like: rain jacket size large, backpack, and thermal underwear size large.

 

Bruce T., male, ID#A1-1

Bruce is a 42 year old man from Toronto, Ont who has been in Calgary looking for work since May 2006.   Last night he stayed at the Salvation Army Booth Centre.   His greatest challenge is finding and apartment and he feels most encouraged by working.

For Christmas Bruce would most like a warm winter coat bomber style size medium or large and then warm footwear size 13 and finally bus tickets.

 

Cavey M., male, ID#B9-1

Cavey is a 45 year old man from Montreal who has been in Calgary 8 months.    Last night he stayed at the Salvation Army Booth Centre.   His greatest challenge is trying to accumulate first and last months rent since living without a home costs more than people realize.    His greatest encouragement is knowing that he can work tomorrow.

For Christmas Cavey would like a large black hoodie, a backpack and a phonecard.

 

Rick S., male, ID#B12-4

Rick is a 45 year old man from Saddle Lake Alberta who has been in Calgary for 12 years.   He stayed at the Salvation Army Booth Centre last night and his greatest challenge is finding a place to rent.

For Christmas Rick would like hat, gloves and a scarf, a backpack and a phonecard.

 

Burai G., male, ID#C2-4

Burai is a 62 year old man from Hungary and he has been in Calgary for 5 months.   Last night he stayed at the Salvation Army Booth Centre.   His greatest challenge is affording rent.  

For Christmas Burai would like warm footwear size 10, socks and a warm winter coat size 42.

For Christmas Larry would like socks, a backpack and bus tickets.

 

Brad D., male, ID#C9-5

Brad is a 54 year old man from Edmonton who has been in Calgary for 4 years.   He came to Calgary looking for work.  Last night he stayed at the Salvation Army Booth Centre.   His biggest challenge is food and shelter.

For Christmas Brad would like socks, blue or black jeans size 32/32 and a warm winter coat size med or 44.

 

Ronnie M., male, ID#B7-8

Ronnie is a 45 year old man from the Siksika Blackfoot and he has lived in Calgary most of his life.  Last night he stayed at the shelter.   His biggest challenge is finding his own place and his greatest encouragement is reading the Bible.    For Christmas Ronnie would like warm footwear size 10, a warm winter coat size M and bus tickets.

For Christmas Peter would like socks and thermal underwear size medium.

 

Cameron S., male, ID#C28

Cameron is a 49 year old man from all over Canada but he has lived in Calgary for 35 years.    He has been at the shelter for the last three months because of a house fire at his previous residence.    His biggest challenge is avoiding the temptations of the street as they are “in your face.”   He is most encouraged by the booming job market and the knowledge of all the drop-in centres.

For Christmas Cameron would like socks, a backpack and bus tickets.

 

Jamie M., male, ID#B11-7

Jamie is a 24 year old man who has lived in Calgary all his life.  Last night he stayed at the shelter.   His biggest challenge is security and finding a home.   He is most encouraged by friendship from others.   

For Christmas Jamie would like socks, a blanket and an XL black hoodie.

 

Lenny S., male, ID#B4-5

Lenny is a 52 year old man who has been in Calgary 6 and a half years.   Last night he stayed outside.   His biggest challenge is the people he associates with, he wants to find new friends.    His greatest encouragement is God and the sunshine.  

For Christmas Lenny would like warm footwear size 7, black pants size 32 and bus tickets.

 

Saidi C., male, ID#B12-7

Saidi is a 27 year old man from Sudan who has been in Calgary for 2 months.    His biggest challenge is a better life and he is most encouraged by being in Canada and feeling peace and love.   

For Christmas Saidi would like a warm black winter coat size XXL, a warm winter shirt and bus tickets.

 

Neil M., male, ID#B9-8

Neil is a 44 year old man from Saskatchewan who came to Calgary for work.   Last night he stayed at the shelter.   His biggest challenge is waking up early and his greatest encouragement is having a place to sleep.  

For Christmas Neil would like warm footwear size 11/12, a backpack and bus tickets.

 

Jason C., male, ID#B13-6

Jason is from Vancouver and has been in Calgary 8 years.   Last night he stayed at the shelter.  His greatest challenge is saving money and he is most encouraged by people helping him out.    

For Christmas Jason would like sport shoes size 12 and bus tickets.

 

Chris P., male, ID#B6-8

Chris is a 44 year old man from Nova Scotia who has been in Calgary for 2 years.   He came to Calgary to work.   His biggest challenge is keeping warm and he is most encouraged by work and having a safe place.  

For Christmas Chris would like warm footwear size 12, a warm winter coat six 4x and a phonecard.

 

Raymond B., male, ID#B10-1

Raymond is a 23 year old man from Nova Scotia who came to Calgary 3 years ago looking for work.     His greatest challenge is his gambling addiction and he is most encouraged by having money.

For Christmas Raymond would like black or blue jeans size 32/32, a backpack and bus tickets.

 

Victor C., male, ID#C3-1

Victor is a 45 year old man from South America.   He came to Calgary looking for work and has been here 13 years.   He stayed at the shelter last night.   His biggest challenge is finding a good paying job and he is most encouraged by his faith in God.  

For Christmas Victor would like socks, a warm winter coat size L and bus tickets.

 

George N., male, ID#B3-9

Last night George stayed at the shelter.  

For Christmas George would like warm footwear size 11 and socks.     

 

Jerry D., male, ID#B2-6

Jerry is a 51 year old man from the Northwest Territory and he has been in Calgary 1 ½ years.    His biggest challenges are keeping warm and finding work and he is most encouraged by “the odd yes instead of no or maybe.”   

For Christmas Jerry would like warm footwear western size 12, a phonecard and bus tickets.

 

Daniel L., male, ID#B2-1

Daniel is a 49 year old man from Peterborough, Ont.   He has been in Calgary for the last 24 years.    His greatest challenge is security and he is most encouraged by love.   

For Christmas Daniel would like a warm winter coat size 42, a backpack and a phonecard.

 

Rob G., male, ID#B3-2

Rob is a 36 year old man from Newmarket, Ont who has been in Calgary for 1 and a half years.   He came to Calgary for work and stayed last night at the shelter.    His biggest challenge is finding a place to live and he is most encouraged by going to work everyday.   

For Christmas Rob would like a backpack, a phonecard and bus tickets.

 

James R., male, ID#B3-7

James is a 39 year old man born in Aberdeen Scotland but raised in Calgary.   Last night he stayed in an emergency bed at the shelter.   For James security is always a concern but finding and keeping reasonable housing is his biggest challenge.   He is most encouraged when he is able to trust and love the people around him.  

For Christmas James would like a phonecard and bus tickets.

 

Melvin M., male, ID#B10-7

Melvin is a 42 year old man from Winnipeg, MB.   He came to Calgary for work and has been here one month.    His biggest challenge is security and he is most encouraged by friendly, nice people.  

For Christmas Melvin would like blue jeans size 30, thermal underwear and bus tickets.

 

Louis K., male, ID#C2-3

Louis is a 60 year old man from Moosonee, Ontario.   He came to look for work in Calgary in 3 years ago.  Last night he stayed at the shelter.   His biggest challenge is keeping warm.   

For Christmas Louis would like warm footwear size 11, socks, a backpack, large size thermal underwear and bus tickets.

 

Keith S., male, ID#A3-2

Keith is a 39 year old man from Ottawa who came to Calgary 17 years ago looking for work.   His biggest challenge is finding living arrangements.   

For Christmas Keith would like dress clothes, a phonecard and bus tickets.

 

Gildar F., male, ID#B6-6

Gildar is a 49 year old man from New Brunswick.    He came to Calgary a few months ago but had a heart attack 3 months ago.    He was able to stay at the Booth Centre last night.     His biggest challenge is his health problems and he is most encouraged by the possibility of being well soon.  

For Christmas Gildar would like a warm winter coat size XL, a backpack and large thermal underwear.

 

Mark W., male, ID#B5-8

Mark is originally from Ontario and has been in Calgary since July looking for work and a new start.    Last night he enjoyed a warm bed at the Booth Centre.     His biggest challenge is using his God-given ability to share the gospel in a way people will listen.   He is most encouraged by God’s word.  

For Christmas Mark would like wool socks, size 34 thermal underwear and a small guitar.

 

Nick B., male, ID#B5-7

Nick is a 19 year old man from Port Perry, Ontario who has been in Calgary 6 months.    Last night he stayed at the shelter.   His biggest challenges are food, security and keeping warm.    He is most encouraged by food.   

For Christmas Nick would like a blanket, a backpack and a phonecard.

 

Ted N., male, ID#C9-6

Ted is a 42 year old man from BC who came to Calgary 8 years ago for work.   He stayed last night at the shelter.    He is most encouraged by working and seeing results.   

For Christmas Ted would like warm footwear size 11, a warm winter coat size XL and a backpack.

 

Garry N., male, ID#C9

Garry is a 59 year old man from Bruno, Sask.  He came to Calgary 2 years ago looking for work.    His biggest challenge is keeping his weight in check and he is most encouraged by working.  

For Christmas Garry would like warm footwear size 11, a warm winter coat size 46R and XL thermal underwear.

 

Valere B., male, ID#C9-3

Valere is a 35 year old man from New Brunswick.   He came to Calgary 6 months ago to work.   He stayed last night at the Salvation Army Booth Centre.   His biggest challenge is keeping warm and security.  

For Christmas Valere would like a blanket, phonecard and bus tickets.

 

William S., male, ID#C-25

William is a 44 year old man from Calgary and he is renting at the shelter.   His biggest challenges are dealing with his schizophrenia, looking for part-time work and having limited cash.    

For Christmas William would like a blanket, hat, gloves and a scarf and bus tickets.

 

Torsten T., male, ID#B6-1

Torsten is a 29 year old man from Fernie, BC.  He came to Calgary to start a new life and continue his HD Mechanic Apprentice.    His biggest challenges are finding a place to live, staying sober (6 months so far) and being able to trust and love again.    His greatest encouragement comes from his higher power and knowing that the sun will always rise tomorrow and there is a silver lining in every cloud.   

For Christmas Torsten would like warm winter socks, a phonecard and bus tickets or a bus pass.

 

Clayton A., male, ID#B7-5

Clayton is a 44 year old man who has lived in Calgary all his life.    He stayed last night at the Booth Centre and his biggest challenge is security and finding a job.   He gets the most encouragement from being able to go to work and having a place to stay.  

For Christmas Clayton would like black jeans size 34/32, a large warm winter coat and bus tickets.

A.B is a 23 year old man whose biggest challenge is finding a place to stay.

Paul is a 20 year old man from Calgary.   His biggest challenge is staying safe and he is most encouraged by a place called The Side Door.
